Additional Privacy Terms for Connecticut Residents

Public Act No. 22-15, also known as the Connecticut Consumer Data Protection Act (“CTDPA”) provides Connecticut residents with certain additional rights related to Energize CT’s processing of your personal data. If you are a Connecticut resident, the sections above in this Privacy Policy, together with the following sections, describe those rights and how you can exercise them. Please note that Energize CT retains the personal data that it collects for 30 days, before permanently deleting the data. As an initiative with your local electric and gas utilities, Energize CT shares the data you provide with your utilities. You may visit your utilities’ websites and privacy policies to understand and exercise your rights with them.

Exercising Your Privacy Rights – Authentication: To respond to your requests to access, obtain a copy of, correct or delete your personal data, we will need to verify your identity and/or authority to make such requests and access, receive, modify or delete such personal data. When you submit a request, we will take steps to verify your identity. You are not required to create an account with us to submit a request. We may ask you to provide us with information about yourself in order to verify your identity. We will only use personal information you provide in connection with identity verification to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request and whenever feasible, we will attempt to match the information you provide with information we may already have about you.

Right to Access and Obtain a Copy of Personal Data: You have the right to access and obtain a copy of your personal data Energize CT processes. You have the right to request and obtain from us, once every twelve months and free of charge, a copy of the personal data that Energize CT processes, and, to the extent applicable and technically feasible, we will provide you this information in a portable format.

Right to Request Deletion of Your Personal Data: You have the right to request that Energize CT delete your personal data subject to certain limitations. If we do not delete your personal data for reasons permitted under applicable law, we will advise you accordingly about how you may appeal the decision.

Appeal: If Energize CT declines to take action on your request, you may submit an appeal request through the email address below.
